Very excited to be joining saxophonist Steve Wilson for two nights at Tula’s Jazz Club, Seattle! July 17th & 18th – 7:30 PM See you there!
I am very excited to announce that the brand new East-West Trumpet summit album is nearly complete. It’s been a year in the making, but we’re almost to the finish line. In 2010 trumpeter Ray Vega and I teamed up for the album East-West Trumpet Summit. We were elated to find this album reach all the way to number one on the JazzWeek airplay chart, and to hear it featured on NPR’s “Morning Edition.” Last year we started work on a second trumpet summit album, this time featuring George Colligan on Hammond B-3 organ and Matt Jorgensen on drums. We think it sounds great – we can’t wait to let you hear it! More to come soon, stay tuned!

My friends Matt Byrne at Buddhist Thug Productions, and John Metzler at Quiet Please Audio produced this amazing music-video of my song “The Tale of Debauchery” from my new album, “Urban Folklore.” Chick it out!
A great review by Thomas Conrad of “Urban Folklore” made the “editor’s Pick” column of the new JazzTimes magazine!

This fall I’m playing with a string of Saturdays at Brass Tacks in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood. Drop in for a great plate of food, a well poured drink and some good music. No cover! November 22, 29 and December 6th.
The new album is here! Please join me in celebrating the release of my 9th album on Origin Records as we play the Earshot Jazz Festival, October 17th & 18th at Tula’s Jazz Club. Orrin, Revis and Donald will be on hand to play some of the fantastic new music on the album, as well as a few from my previous records. I hope you can make it! Ticket information can be found HERE. Labor day weekend at the Gorge Amphitheater is the annual three-day concert by the Dave Matthews Band. This year I had the good fortune to play with opening band Dumpstaphunk, an amazing funk band from New Orleans led by Ivan Neville. Here’s a photo of the horn section featuring Skerik and Jeff Coffin from the DMB. FUN!

My newest album, “Urban Folklore” is set to be released this October on Origin Records. Joining me on this new project are some of my favorite musicians (and people!) anywhere: Orrin Evans, Donald Edwards and Eric Revis. Take a listen and learn more about the project by clicking HERE!
